Art by: Matthew Pazzol

an interdisciplinary explosion of art,
performance, antiques and oddities

The absurdity of the human condition lies in our compulsive desire to order a fundamentally disorderly world. Art plays with that desire, creating new worlds and new world (dis)orders. The artist must challenge, disturb, and resist. The artist must reveal to us our infinite terror of the unknown.

To collect is to admire, to obsess, to lose oneself in the compulsive human desire to categorize the uncategorical; to contain is to oppress, to limit, to control.

CONTAIN/COLLECT will feature oddities and curiosities from long time collector Jim Addison, proprietor of Addison Inc., vintage original linen backed posters from expert art restorer, and collector Darrell Kobza, Antique Avenue's mid-century modern furniture and decor, Ulisa Deskaj's meticulously detailed drawings that blur the organic and the industrial, Michael McGlennons alternate universe of multi-layered and masterfully executed silkscreens, Matthew Pazzol virtuosic mixed media original art series, collage and sculpture by Melissa Florence, and playful juxtapositions and framings by the show's curator, Caitlin Brubacher.

Peformances will be held on the weekends between 1pm to 5pm and will feature
Sophie Rusnock (Harpist), Chris O'Bray (performer) Kathleen O'Reilley (performer), Sheelagh Traché (performer), Matthew Pazzol (and his clown troupe), Amy Zampiero (performer), and many many more.
